Junior Engineer

At Beltr, we crunch industrial data with AI simplicity, and our goal is to improve all factories worldwide. Our first product is Beltr Hero, an AI agent for industrial data. We help industrial companies deliver real value through improving their production or otherwise gaining insights from their own data.

You will have an important role as an early engineer in a tech startup, where your work will matter for Beltr's success.

You will not only use plenty of AI productivity tools, but also help us define what AI native software means for the industrial sector.

We will support you in your learning journey and help guide you, but expect little guardrails and lots of freedom to take ownership of your work.

• Build features into Beltr Hero, our desktop application
• Get data out of the systems factories actually use — databases, files, APIs, historians — quickly and reliably.
• Making our AI agent better: prompts, tools, evaluations.
• Handle large time series data sets and state of the art algorithms for analyzing them.
• Whatever else is in the way that week, no problem is beneath us.

• You can already build software and finish projects. What you've built matters more than where you studied.
• You are curious about how things work.
• You move without being told what to do next, and you say so early when you are stuck.
• You use AI tooling hard and know where it stops working. You will get plenty of token budgets, you spend them wisely.
• You enjoy being productive in front of the computer for days at a time, but you also enjoy joining us on factory visits.
• Currently studying, or recently graduated. Any field, as long as you can code. We are open for less than 100% time commitment initially.

You do not need experience with industrial data, our stack, or startups. You do need to want to learn insanely fast.

• Location: Molde, Norway. On-site, not a remote position.
• Language: We work in Norwegian and English. You need to be comfortable in English; Norwegian helps in customer meetings but is not a requirement.
